Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the most successful film actors on earth.

Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's dad, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal portion of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He shifted to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the little princess of a mature government engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan referred to himself on Twitter as "1 / 2 Hyderabadi (mom), one half Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.
Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented apartments rentals. Khan attended St. Columba's University in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. After Hansraj, he started learning for a master's degree in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to follow his acting career. He also attended the National School of Theatre in Delhi during his early career in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumor in 1981, and his mom died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death of the parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a depressed express and Khan required on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.
Although Khan was presented with the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is commonly referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a child Aryan (delivered 1997) and a child Suhana (born 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child known as AbRam, who was simply born by using a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he strongly feels in Islam, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
