Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film actor, producer and tv set personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film superstars in the global world.

Khan commenced his job with appearances in a number of tv series in the overdue 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture creation company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Group cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster alleviation, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in listings of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek called him one of the fifty most powerful people in the global world.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in lady family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko vocabulary at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian National Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the princess of a older administration engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan detailed himself on Twitter as "fifty percent Hyderabadi (mom), one half Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's School in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and football, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in stage has and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood stars, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (Label), where he researched behaving under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started learning for a master's degree in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to pursue his acting job. He also went to the National University of Theatre in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His dad died of cancers in 1981, and his mother passed away in 1991 from issues of diabetes. After the death of these parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, dropped into a frustrated point out and Khan had taken on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, which is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (born 1997) and a girl Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child named AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Regarding to Khan, while he is convinced in Islam strongly, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
