Shah Rukh Khan (delivered Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film acting professional, producer and television personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience income and size, he has been described as one of the very most successful film stars in the global world.

Khan started out his career with appearances in several tv set series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. (2001). He acquired critical acclaim for his portrayal of an alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing motion pictures include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Yr (2014). A lot of his films display designs of Indian national contacts and identity with diaspora communities, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film development company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is also the co-owner of the Indian Top Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv set stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in lady family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the princess of a mature federal government engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan referred to himself on Twitter as "50 % Hyderabadi (mom), one half Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's Institution in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports such as hockey and sports, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his children, he acted in level has and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. After Hansraj, he commenced studying for a master's level in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to pursue his acting job. He also went to the National School of Play in Delhi during his early on profession in Bollywood. His father died of cancer tumor in 1981, and his mom died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death of these parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a stressed out Khan and condition took on the responsibility of caring for her. Although Khan was given the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and it is described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (born 1997) and a little girl Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they became parents of your third child called AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he firmly believes in Islam, he also prices his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
