Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the most successful film celebrities on earth.

Khan began his job with appearances in a number of tv set series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his job, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous functions in the movies Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then increased to prominence after starring in a series of romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of your alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey trainer in Chak De! He is a frequent television stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one with their fifty most effective people in the world.


Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Matching to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's dad, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, English India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal part of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian National Congress. He relocated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the princess of a senior federal engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "fifty percent Hyderabadi (mom), 50 % Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan was raised in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's University in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his junior, he acted in stage takes on and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood actors, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of is own childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj University (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in much of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he studied operating under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started studying for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to follow his acting career. He also went to the National College of Episode in Delhi during his early on profession in Bollywood. His dad died of malignancy in 1981, and his mother passed on in 1991 from difficulties of diabetes. After the death with their parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, dropped into a depressed condition and Khan had taken on the responsibility of looking after her. Although Khan was presented with the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu marriage ceremony on 25 October 1991, following a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a daughter Suhana (born 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child known as AbRam, who was born by having a surrogate mother. Matching to Khan, while he strongly feels in Islam, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
