Shah Rukh Khan (given birth to Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Khan started his profession with appearances in several television set series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. (2001). He acquired critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger syndrome in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Many of his movies screen topics of Indian national personality and relationships with diaspora communities, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.

Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal region of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He shifted to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a senior government engineer. His parents were hitched in 1959. Khan defined himself on Twitter as "50 % Hyderabadi (mother), 50 percent Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Following the death of these parents, his older sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, given birth to in 1960, fell into a despondent express and Khan required on the duty of looking after her.
