Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film actor, producer and television set personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the very most successful film stars on earth.

Khan started his job with appearances in a number of tv set series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his profession, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous tasks in the videos Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in a series of romantic videos, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal associated with an alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger syndrome in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko dialect at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a mature government engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "1 / 2 Hyderabadi (mom), 50 percent Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented rentals. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and football, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his youngsters, he acted in level works and received praise for his imitations of Bollywood celebrities, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG), where he analyzed performing under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he commenced learning for a master's level in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to go after his acting job. He also attended the National College of Dilemma in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His dad died of cancers in 1981, and his mom perished in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death with their parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, fell into a depressed talk about and Khan got on the responsibility of looking after her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is commonly described by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (born 1997) and a girl Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of a third child called AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he highly feels in Islam, he also values his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
