Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film acting professional, producer and television set personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film stars in the global world.

Khan commenced his job with appearances in a number of tv series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his job, Khan was recognised for portraying villainous assignments in the movies Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in a series of romantic videos, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He attained critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger syndrome in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing videos include the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New Season (2014). Many of his films screen themes of Indian national associations and identity with diaspora communities, or gender, racial, social and religious dissimilarities and grievances. For his contributions to film, the national government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, which is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Category cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television set stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in listings of the very most influential people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one of their fifty most powerful people in the global world.


Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, United kingdom India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal part of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the girl of a older authorities engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan identified himself on Twitter as "50 % Hyderabadi (mother), half Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports such as hockey and sports, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. In his young ones, he acted in stage takes on and received praise for his imitations of Bollywood actors, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (TAG), where he examined acting under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he commenced studying for a master's level in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but kept to pursue his acting career. He also attended the National School of Theatre in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His father died of tumor in 1981, and his mom died in 1991 from problems of diabetes. Following the death with their parents, his older sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, fell into a stressed out status and Khan needed on the responsibility of looking after her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the beginning name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, which is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (delivered 1997) and a little girl Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of a third child called AbRam, who was simply born through a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he highly is convinced in Islam, he also values his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
