Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan started his career with appearances in a number of television set series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his career, Khan was accepted for portraying villainous assignments in the films Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in some romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He attained critical acclaim for his portrayal of the alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing videos are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko vocabulary at home. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a senior authorities engineer. His parents were hitched in 1959. Khan detailed himself on Twitter as "half Hyderabadi (mom), one half Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's School in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in stage takes on and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood actors, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. After Hansraj, he commenced studying for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but kept to follow his acting job. He also attended the National College of Theatre in Delhi during his early on profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of cancer in 1981, and his mother died in 1991 from problems of diabetes. Following the death of these parents, his more aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a depressed condition and Khan had taken on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and it is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, following a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (delivered 1997) and a little princess Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of a third child named AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he strongly feels in Islam, he also values his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
