Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the most successful film celebrities in the global world.

Khan started his profession with appearances in a number of tv series in the overdue 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his profession, Khan was recognised for portraying villainous roles in the movies Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in some romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of the alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger syndrome in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Season (2014). Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko vocabulary at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, United kingdom India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He relocated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a mature federal government engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan detailed himself on Twitter as "fifty percent Hyderabadi (mom), fifty percent Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan was raised in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in athletics such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. In his children, he acted in level plays and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood actors, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (Label), where he analyzed behaving under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started out learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to follow his acting profession. He also went to the National Institution of Drama in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumor in 1981, and his mother died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death of these parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, dropped into a depressed talk about and Khan required on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a girl Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of any third child named AbRam, who was simply born through the surrogate mother. According to Khan, while he strongly feels in Islam, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
