Shah Rukh Khan (delivered Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film acting professional, producer and television set personality. Khan started his job with appearances in several tv series in the past due 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture development company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is also the co-owner of the Indian Top Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek called him one of the fifty most powerful people on the globe.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko dialect at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, English India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian National Congress. He migrated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a mature administration engineer. His parents were hitched in 1959. Khan defined himself on Twitter as "half Hyderabadi (mother), 50 percent Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's Institution in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in stage plays and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of is own childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he researched acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he began learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to pursue his acting career. He also went to the National College of Drama in Delhi during his early on job in Bollywood. His dad died of cancer in 1981, and his mother perished in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death of the parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, given birth to in 1960, fell into a frustrated Khan and point out took on the responsibility of caring for her.
