Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film professional, producer and tv personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience size and income, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film actors in the global world.

Khan started out his career with appearances in several tv series in the overdue 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing movies include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Many of his movies screen themes or templates of Indian nationwide personality and cable connections with diaspora areas, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.

Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's dad, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, English India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal region of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a senior government engineer. His parents were committed in 1959. Khan defined himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mother), 50 % Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's Institution in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports such as hockey and sports, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his young ones, he acted in level works and received praise for his imitations of Bollywood stars, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he examined acting under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he began studying for a master's degree in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to go after his acting job. He also attended the National University of Dilemma in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His dad died of tumors in 1981, and his mom perished in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death with their parents, his more aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, fell into a frustrated Khan and condition required on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a princess Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they became parents of any third child known as AbRam, who was born by having a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he firmly believes in Islam, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
