Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan commenced his job with appearances in several tv set series in the past due 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Matching to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a older federal engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "half Hyderabadi (mother), one half Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan was raised in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's University in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in level plays and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he analyzed behaving under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started out learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to go after his acting profession. He also attended the National University of Theatre in Delhi during his early on profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumors in 1981, and his mother passed away in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death of the parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, fell into a stressed out condition and Khan needed on the responsibility of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after having a six-year courtship. They have a child Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a child Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of an third child named AbRam, who was simply born via a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he feels in Islam strongly, he also values his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
