Shah Rukh Khan (given birth to Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. Khan started his profession with appearances in a number of tv series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his job, Khan was recognised for portraying villainous functions in the videos Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in a series of romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of the alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger syndrome in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Time (2014). A lot of his movies screen themes of Indian national individuality and links with diaspora neighborhoods, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, United kingdom India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He shifted to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a mature government engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan defined himself on Twitter as "fifty percent Hyderabadi (mom), 1 / 2 Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan was raised in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in athletics such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in stage has and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj School (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but spent much of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (Label), where he analyzed acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started out studying for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to follow his acting career. He also went to the National School of Crisis in Delhi during his early on job in Bollywood. His dad died of cancers in 1981, and his mom passed away in 1991 from issues of diabetes. Following the death with their parents, his more mature sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, fell into a stressed out Khan and state had taken on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (created 1997) and a little girl Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of your third child called AbRam, who was simply born via a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he believes in Islam highly, he also prices his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
