Khan started out his profession with appearances in several television series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s.
