Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan started out his profession with appearances in several television series in the overdue 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his career, Khan was accepted for portraying villainous assignments in the motion pictures Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in a series of romantic movies, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of an alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing videos include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Many of his videos screen styles of Indian national identification and links with diaspora neighborhoods, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the national government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.

He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports such as hockey and football, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in level plays and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood celebrities, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but put in much of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (TAG), where he studied performing under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started learning for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to follow his acting career. He also went to the National University of Play in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His dad died of malignancy in 1981, and his mom passed away in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death of these parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, fell into a despondent Khan and express got on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the beginning name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (born 1997) and a little princess Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they became parents of any third child named AbRam, who was simply born through a surrogate mother.
