Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience income and size, he has been referred to as one of the very most successful film actors in the global world.

Khan began his profession with appearances in several tv set series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). Many of his videos screen styles of Indian countrywide identity and cable connections with diaspora areas, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



As of 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and it is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one of their fifty most effective people in the global world.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko words at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal portion of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian National Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a mature administration engineer. His parents were committed in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mom), half Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's School in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. He also attended the National Institution of Dilemma in Delhi during his early career in Bollywood. His father died of tumor in 1981, and his mom passed away in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death of their parents, his older sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a frustrated Khan and state required on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (born 1997) and a little girl Suhana (born 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of a third child named AbRam, who was born by using a surrogate mother. According to Khan, while he believes in Islam firmly, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
