Shah Rukh Khan (given birth to Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience size and income, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film superstars in the global world.

Khan started out his career with appearances in a number of tv series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented flats. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in level takes on and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood actors, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj School (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent much of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he researched performing under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he commenced learning for a master's level in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to pursue his acting career. He also went to the National College of Play in Delhi during his early profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumors in 1981, and his mother passed away in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death of the parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, dropped into a despondent state and Khan got on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the beginning name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (blessed 1997) and a child Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they became parents of any third child named AbRam, who was born by having a surrogate mother. Matching to Khan, while he thinks in Islam strongly, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
