Shah Rukh Khan (delivered Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan started out his profession with appearances in a number of television set series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his profession, Khan was recognised for portraying villainous jobs in the films Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in a series of romantic movies, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He attained critical acclaim for his portrayal of any alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey mentor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger syndrome in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Yr (2014). A lot of his movies display themes of Indian national associations and individuality with diaspora areas, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Leading Category cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko vocabulary at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a older federal government engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mother), fifty percent Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Although Khan was presented with the birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often described by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, following a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (blessed 1997) and a daughter Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of any third child known as AbRam, who was simply born by using a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he feels in Islam strongly, he also values his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
