Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience income and size, he has been described as one of the very most successful film actors in the global world.

Khan started out his job with appearances in several television series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his profession, Khan was recognised for portraying villainous tasks in the motion pictures Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in some romantic videos, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey mentor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing videos are the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). A lot of his movies display designs of Indian nationwide personal information and connections with diaspora areas, or gender, racial, social and religious differences and grievances. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He migrated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a older administration engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "1 / 2 Hyderabadi (mother), 50 % Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's Institution in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in athletics such as hockey and sports, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his young ones, he acted in level takes on and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. Following the death of their parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, fell into a depressed state and Khan required on the responsibility of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (created 1997) and a little girl Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of a third child known as AbRam, who was simply born through the surrogate mother. Regarding to Khan, while he believes in Islam highly, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
