Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, producer and television personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. India (2007) and a guy with Asperger syndrome in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Season (2014). Khan identified himself on Twitter as "1 / 2 Hyderabadi (mom), 50 % Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.

After Hansraj, he began studying for a master's degree in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but kept to pursue his acting profession. He also went to the National College of Theatre in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His father died of cancer tumor in 1981, and his mom died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death of these parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, dropped into a frustrated express and Khan took on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25 October 1991, after having a six-year courtship. They have a child Aryan (delivered 1997) and a girl Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they became parents of a third child called AbRam, who was born through a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he thinks in Islam firmly, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
