Shah Rukh Khan (given birth to Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, producer and tv personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience size and income, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film actors on the globe.

Khan began his profession with appearances in several television series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his job, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous roles in the movies Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in some romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He acquired critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing movies are the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New Time (2014). Many of his movies screen themes of Indian national connections and personality with diaspora neighborhoods, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture creation company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and it is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi khan was created on 2. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's dad, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still residing in Shah Wali Qataal part of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He migrated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the girl of a senior administration engineer. His parents were hitched in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "50 % Hyderabadi (mother), 1 / 2 Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented rentals. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and sports, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his young ones, he acted in level works and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood actors, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG), where he analyzed acting under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he commenced learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to pursue his acting career. He also attended the National Institution of Play in Delhi during his early profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumor in 1981, and his mother perished in 1991 from difficulties of diabetes. After the death of their parents, his more aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, dropped into a stressed out status and Khan got on the responsibility of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the beginning name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (blessed 1997) and a child Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child known as AbRam, who was simply born by having a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he is convinced in Islam firmly, he also values his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
