Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience income and size, he has been described as one of the most successful film celebrities on the planet.

Khan began his career with appearances in a number of television series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early in his career, Khan was accepted for portraying villainous roles in the motion pictures Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in some romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of any alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey mentor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). A lot of his movies screen styles of Indian national associations and personality with diaspora areas, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the national government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



As of 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, which is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv set stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek known as him one of the fifty most effective people on the planet.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in lady family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Regarding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, English India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal part of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian National Congress. He relocated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a mature federal engineer. His parents were committed in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mom), 50 percent Pathan (dad), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. After Hansraj, he started out studying for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but kept to pursue his acting career. He also attended the National University of Dilemma in Delhi during his early on job in Bollywood. His father died of cancer tumor in 1981, and his mom perished in 1991 from difficulties of diabetes. Following the death of their parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, fell into a stressed out express and Khan had taken on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is commonly referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (blessed 1997) and a child Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of your third child called AbRam, who was born by using a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he strongly thinks in Islam, he also prices his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
