Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience size and income, he has been described as one of the very most successful film stars in the global world.

Khan started his job with appearances in a number of television set series in the past due 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. For his contributions to film, the national government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film development company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier Category cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster comfort, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most influential people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek known as him one of these fifty most powerful people on earth.


November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi khan was born on 2. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, United kingdom India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a older authorities engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan described himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mother), 50 percent Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. In his junior, he acted in stage plays and received praise for his imitations of Bollywood actors, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj School (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent much of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (TAG), where he researched performing under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started out learning for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to follow his acting profession. He also attended the National College of Crisis in Delhi during his early profession in Bollywood. His father died of tumor in 1981, and his mother passed on in 1991 from difficulties of diabetes. Following the death of the parents, his old sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, fell into a despondent status and Khan needed on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often described by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after having a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a daughter Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of your third child named AbRam, who was simply born by way of a surrogate mother. According to Khan, while he believes in Islam highly, he also prices his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
