Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan commenced his job with appearances in several tv set series in the overdue 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Matching to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko terms at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a senior government engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan detailed himself on Twitter as "one half Hyderabadi (mom), 50 percent Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented flats. Khan attended St. Columba's University in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his children, he acted in level plays and received praise for his imitations of Bollywood stars, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG), where he studied operating under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started out studying for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but remaining to follow his acting profession. He also attended the National School of Dilemma in Delhi during his early career in Bollywood. His dad died of cancers in 1981, and his mother perished in 1991 from problems of diabetes. After the death of these parents, his older sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, born in 1960, dropped into a stressed out condition and Khan got on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and it is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, following a six-year courtship. They have a child Aryan (blessed 1997) and a princess Suhana (born 2000). In 2013, they became parents of a third child named AbRam, who was simply born by having a surrogate mother. Matching to Khan, while he thinks in Islam highly, he also prices his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
