Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan started his career with appearances in several tv series in the past due 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a older government engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "half Hyderabadi (mother), 50 % Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the grouped family resided a middle-class life in rented apartments rentals. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in athletics such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. Following the death of the parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a stressed out status and Khan got on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, following a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (created 1997) and a girl Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of the third child known as AbRam, who was simply born through a surrogate mother. Regarding to Khan, while he thinks in Islam firmly, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
