Although Khan was given the beginning name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25 October 1991, following a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (blessed 1997) and a princess Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child called AbRam, who was simply born by having a surrogate mother.
