Shah Rukh Khan (given birth to Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience income and size, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film personalities on the globe.

Khan commenced his career with appearances in several television set series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his career, Khan was accepted for portraying villainous assignments in the movies Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then increased to prominence after starring in some romantic videos, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing motion pictures include the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Many of his videos display topics of Indian national personal information and contacts with diaspora communities, or gender, racial, social and religious dissimilarities and grievances. For his contributions to film, the national government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



As of 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film creation company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is also the co-owner of the Indian Top League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster pain relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most influential people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one with their fifty most effective people on earth.

He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko vocabulary at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal area of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He migrated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a mature federal government engineer. His parents were hitched in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "50 % Hyderabadi (mother), half Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origin from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest award, the Sword of Honour. In his children, he acted in level plays and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood celebrities, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Mumtaz and Bachchan. One of is own childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj University (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG), where he analyzed operating under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he began learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to pursue his acting profession. He also went to the National Institution of Drama in Delhi during his early profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of malignancy in 1981, and his mom perished in 1991 from issues of diabetes. After the death of their parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, fell into a depressed Khan and condition took on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the labor and birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, following a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (delivered 1997) and a princess Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of the third child known as AbRam, who was simply born through the surrogate mother. Matching to Khan, while he feels in Islam strongly, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
