Shah Rukh Khan (blessed Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, producer and television set personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan commenced his job with appearances in a number of tv series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. He then rose to prominence after starring in a series of romantic films, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger syndrome in My Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing videos are the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in female family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Regarding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an ethnic Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still surviving in Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the daughter of a older authorities engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan defined himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mom), half Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan origins from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. He also went to the National School of Crisis in Delhi during his early on profession in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumor in 1981, and his mom passed away in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Following the death with their parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, created in 1960, fell into a frustrated state and Khan took on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, which is described by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a little girl Suhana (delivered 2000). In 2013, they became parents of an third child called AbRam, who was born via a surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he strongly thinks in Islam, he also values his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
