Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, is an Indian film actor, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience income and size, he has been described as one of the very most successful film superstars in the global world.

Khan commenced his job with appearances in several television series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his career, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous jobs in the videos Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then increased to prominence after starring in some romantic films, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of any alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a guy with Asperger symptoms in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing films are the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New Calendar year (2014). Many of his films screen designs of Indian national individuality and relationships with diaspora communities, or gender, racial, social and religious grievances and differences. For his contributions to film, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture creation company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Leading Little league cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television set stage and presenter show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster alleviation, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Corresponding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he is a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko language at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). As of 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal part of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He relocated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the princess of a senior federal government engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. He also went to the National University of Dilemma in Delhi during his early on job in Bollywood. His father died of cancer tumor in 1981, and his mother passed away in 1991 from problems of diabetes. After the death of the parents, his aged sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, given birth to in 1960, fell into a stressed out condition and Khan required on the duty of caring for her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu marriage ceremony on 25, following a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (delivered 1997) and a princess Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they became parents of a third child called AbRam, who was born by using a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he highly believes in Islam, he also prices his wife's religious beliefs. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
