Shah Rukh Khan (delivered Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), also known as SRK, can be an Indian film acting professional, television and producer personality. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



As of 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film development company Red Chillies Entertainment and its own subsidiaries, and it is the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent tv set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided health care and disaster alleviation, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most influential people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one of their fifty most effective people in the global world.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the chief engineer of the port in the 1960s. Regarding to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his whole family used to speak Hindko terminology at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and associated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He moved to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the princess of a older administration engineer. His parents were wedded in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "one half Hyderabadi (mom), 50 percent Pathan (daddy), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar claim that the grouped family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and soccer, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his young ones, he acted in level works and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood actors, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (TAG), where he studied acting under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he began studying for a master's degree in Mass Marketing communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to go after his acting profession. He also went to the National Institution of Dilemma in Delhi during his early on career in Bollywood. His father died of cancer in 1981, and his mom died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. After the death of the parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, fell into a depressed condition and Khan took on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz is constantly on the live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was presented with the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is also referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, october 1991 in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (blessed 1997) and a child Suhana (blessed 2000). In 2013, they became parents of a third child named AbRam, who was born through the surrogate mother. Corresponding to Khan, while he believes in Islam strongly, he also prices his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
