Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, is an Indian film acting professional, producer and television personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In conditions of audience income and size, he has been described as one of the most successful film personalities in the global world.

Khan began his job with appearances in several tv series in the later 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his career, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous assignments in the films Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). He then rose to prominence after starring in some romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey coach in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing movies are the comedies Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He spent the first five many years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several business ventures including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in activities such as hockey and football, and received the school's highest prize, the Sword of Honour. In his children, he acted in stage takes on and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood celebrities, of which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj University (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but spent a lot of his time at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (Label), where he researched operating under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but left to go after his acting job. He also attended the National Institution of Drama in Delhi during his early profession in Bollywood. His dad died of tumors in 1981, and his mother perished in 1991 from issues of diabetes. Following the death of the parents, his more mature sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, fell into a depressed Khan and express had taken on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is often referred to by the acronym SRK. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, following a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a little princess Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they became parents of your third child called AbRam, who was born through the surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he believes in Islam strongly, he also values his wife's religion.
