Shah Rukh Khan (born Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film professional, television and producer personality. Described in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a substantial following in Asia and the Indian diaspora worldwide. In terms of audience income and size, he has been referred to as one of the most successful film personalities in the global world.

Khan started his profession with appearances in a number of tv series in the late 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. Early on in his profession, Khan was recognized for portraying villainous roles in the videos Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993) and Anjaam (1994). Then rose to prominence after starring in a series of romantic motion pictures, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of any alcoholic in Devdas (2002), a NASA scientist in Swades (2004), a hockey instructor in Chak De! India (2007) and a man with Asperger symptoms in my own Name Is Khan (2010). His highest-grossing motion pictures are the comedies Chennai Exhibit (2013) and Happy New 12 months (2014). November 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi khan was born on 2. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Matching to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his complete family used to speak Hindko dialect at home. Khan's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian freedom activist in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still moving into Shah Wali Qataal section of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian Country wide Congress. He transferred to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the little girl of a mature government engineer. His parents were married in 1959. Khan identified himself on Twitter as "1 / 2 Hyderabadi (mother), 50 percent Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and also contradict the claim that his grandfather was from Afghanistan.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments. Khan attended St. Columba's College in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and football, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his youth, he acted in stage plays and received compliment for his imitations of Bollywood actors, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj School (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics, but put in a lot of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (TAG), where he analyzed performing under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he started learning for a master's degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but still left to pursue his acting career. He also went to the National College of Dilemma in Delhi during his early on career in Bollywood. His dad died of cancer tumor in 1981, and his mom perished in 1991 from issues of diabetes. Following the death of their parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, blessed in 1960, fell into a frustrated Khan and express got on the duty of looking after her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the delivery name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, and is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a normal Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a boy Aryan (given birth to 1997) and a little girl Suhana (created 2000). In 2013, they truly became parents of the third child named AbRam, who was simply born by using a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he strongly believes in Islam, he also values his wife's faith. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an is situated next to the Hindu deities.
