Shah Rukh Khan (created Shahrukh Khan; 2 November 1965), known as SRK also, can be an Indian film acting professional, producer and tv personality. Referred to in the media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan", he has appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Khan started out his career with appearances in several television set series in the past due 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. For his contributions to film, the federal government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, and the federal government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the L?gion d'honneur.



By 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the film development company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and it is the co-owner of the Indian Top Category cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is a frequent television set presenter and stage show performer. The media often label him as "Brand SRK" because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures. Khan's philanthropic endeavours have provided healthcare and disaster relief, and he was honoured with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his support of children's education. He regularly features in entries of the most important people in Indian culture, and in 2008, Newsweek named him one of these fifty most powerful people in the world.


Khan was created on 2 November 1965 in woman family in New Delhi. He spent the first five years of his life in Mangalore, where his maternal grandfather, Ifthikar Ahmed, served as the principle engineer of the port in the 1960s. Relating to Khan, his paternal grandfather, Jan Muhammad, an cultural Pathan was from Afghanistan. Shah Rukh Khan also said in his interviews that he's a Pathan from Peshawar and his entire family used to speak Hindko terms at home. Khan's daddy, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian self-reliance activist in Peshawar, British isles India (present-day Pakistan). By 2010, Khan's paternal family was still living in Shah Wali Qataal portion of Peshawar's Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Meer was a follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and affiliated with the All Indian National Congress. He migrated to New Delhi in 1948 partition of India. Khan's mom, Lateef Fatima, was the child of a mature federal government engineer. His parents were committed in 1959. Khan explained himself on Twitter as "50 percent Hyderabadi (mother), one half Pathan (father), [and] some Kashmiri (grandmother)". His paternal cousins in Peshawar declare that the family is of Hindkowan source from Kashmir, not Pashtun, and contradict the declare that his grandfather was from Afghanistan also.



Khan grew in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi up. His father had several businesses including a restaurant, and the grouped family lived a middle-class life in rented apartments rentals. Khan attended St. Columba's Institution in central Delhi where he excelled in his studies and in sports activities such as hockey and basketball, and received the school's highest honor, the Sword of Honour. In his youngsters, he acted in stage works and received reward for his imitations of Bollywood celebrities, which his favourites were Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Mumtaz. One of his childhood friends and acting partners was Amrita Singh, who became a Bollywood actress. Khan enrolled at Hansraj College or university (1985-88) to earn his bachelor's level in Economics, but spent much of his time at Delhi's Theater Action Group (Label), where he studied performing under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John. After Hansraj, he commenced studying for a master's level in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, but kept to pursue his acting profession. He also went to the National School of Episode in Delhi during his early job in Bollywood. His daddy died of tumor in 1981, and his mother died in 1991 from problems of diabetes. Following the death of their parents, his elderly sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh, delivered in 1960, dropped into a stressed out status and Khan got on the responsibility of caring for her. Shahnaz continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion.


Although Khan was given the birth name Shahrukh Khan, he prefers his name to be written as Shah Rukh Khan, which is referred to by the acronym SRK commonly. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a kid Aryan (delivered 1997) and a girl Suhana (given birth to 2000). In 2013, they became parents of any third child known as AbRam, who was born by having a surrogate mother. Relating to Khan, while he highly believes in Islam, he also values his wife's religion. His children follow both religions; at home the Qur'an can be found next to the Hindu deities.
